What is a Landscape photo
When you hear the word landscape you think of buildings weather environment this is all part of landscaping. Words that are linked with landscape is scenery, aspect terrain panorama county land environment. When you google landscape you see pictures of the environment the weather it shows use the vibrant colours of the sky it shows us the colour blending of sunlight or the stary sky, it also shows us the landscape of buildings this is also shown to us through the weather. And ideal landscape for me would be to take pictures in Japan as it has vibrant colours and the landscape is beautiful and the weather is also bright even when its night. when you take a picture of landscape you have to take the space to concentrate as if its zoomed in to far it can ruin the picture. Most of the time when I take a picture of a landscape i try to interoperate everything to be inside the photo, i find when taking a landscape photo the main thing to lookout for is the lighting affects this can really change how the image will come out and the foreground is important as the surroundings can play a bigger role in in the photograph.
My relationship to the real world is fine being out in nature is peaceful as its quiet and in this type of weather its warm and the flowers start to go this gives good options for a good photo. For a landscape i would go around the area i live in, there are good photo opportunities close to Woolwich common and parks would be good as the trees and flowers give good scenery’s. People take pictures of nature as it can be peaceful, this gives the opportunity to focus on what the scenery is. Photograph can help you see the world as with nature and the different climates can give different ways to take a photo, as if its summer it could have flowers around or if winter it could have snow. This gives a new look on a landscape as the outcome can be different every time.
these photos consist of the weather and buildings these photos had to be taken at the right time as the could have changed and the constantsy of the environment makes the pictures as well especially the darker photos. These photos were also taken on holiday i had considered the lighting and the background these images turned out very well as the backgrounds are done nicley and i had edited a few of the photos to bring out the coulour towords the photos giving them a more fresh look. I find with landscape photographs there is something that brings out the photo that makes you want to take that moment and just look at how a photo can be captured in that one moment. Each landscape photo is uniquely taken differently giving each photo that moment to stop and just look how a photo can be done like this taken like this.
The idea of landscape
The artist would have to take to consider the background as there may be interference with taken the photo. We a fairly closes to the image this shows us the little details as we wouldn’t be able to see this if the photo was taken further away A vantage point for these images is that we are looking forward we are seeing the photo for all of what it is. Both artists depiction is different as we can see the horse running from the camera and for. the other we can see a rocky waste land. These photos show how the landscape can be affected with a object. This photograph has been composed well as the artist has take to consideration the space and framing. Each photo is unique, i like how we can see the horse riding of and with the clear blue sky this gives the photo more brighter colours. For the second photo the way the photo has been edited matches with the rocky landscape giving this ruff corces environment
Back To The Future
this photo consists of the ocean and a island in the background this photo show how they water waves contrast between the sky and water. the edited photo gives the photo a new look as you can tell its at sunset and the waves contrast between the sunlight and the edited photos. the effect the photo gives is that with the darker view it shows how the waves blends with the rocks and with light compositions The waves of the ocean really bring this photo to life this characterises the photo. The attention to detail of changing ing the colour from the original makes the photo feel older as if as if its been lost at sea.
|
Both of these images are considered landscapes they depicted photos of the ocean and and described the different relationships between the sea. The similarity between the different photos is that they both show how the landscape effects the ocean view. The differences from both image show the ocean landscape however there both different as the first one shows the waves of the ocean wheres the second picture it shows us conjures images through a collage. best words to describe these photos would be swell, wavy. I would prefer to live in landscape two it looks more calmer where as the first landscape looks a lot more like a wasteland. This photo has been composed well as the artist has thought of the composition of the waves and how it effects the movement of the image

Minimalistic Landscape: what remains
Geraldo de Barros was a Brazilian photographer and painter he was mostly known for his work in experimental abstract photography and modernism, with a series of photos that used multiple exposures rotated images and abstract froms.
Liz Nelsen was a American photographer and was mostly known for her work with replacing the negative with hand cut collages composed with different colours. In these photos you both see a tree with minimalist backgrounds in Geraldo photo you only see the tree where as in Liz's photo you see the tree and what seems to be a plant pot and stairway. What is unusual about both these photos is that there still landscape photos either way that the background photos are blurred out you can still see the mane subject of the tree this doesn’t change the fact its of a landscape. If i were to attempt both these photos i would get a picture of a tree then edited the negative space black leaving only tree visible, |
In these photos you both see a tree with minimalist backgrounds, for the second photo i would do the same take a photo similar then edit the photo clearing the negative space and highlight the main parts of the photo. Both photographers might have removed the surround background just to show focus on the tree or they may have found that edit the background out works better for the image. Both images are composed well in Geraldo i like how he has matched the trunk of the background colour were as in Liz's photo i like how she has individually shown all the lines in the image from the stairs to the bush this shows that she has taken a lot of time and thought into making this photo. Even in her edited photo she has still stuck to the small attention to detail leaving in the stairs and the plant pot this small attention to detail really elevates the photo

Trip to gallery. Centre Of British Photography
we attended London gallery to view landscape photographs. I found these photos looked a lot better then what they do online as seeing them in person show how much more detail is put into taking these photos. Of all the photos my favourite photo was of Keith Arnatt this was the one of the van out in front of what seems to have crashed I also like how the photo was edited this gives the photo a more desirable view. John Davies landscape photos were also good as he had shown how the impact of the environment can reflect onto the photo and the editing of the photo gives it into a different limelight. I found the more urban photos to be that more interesting as its the smaller things that interested me more then the brightly coloured photos. Even the photo of just a simple sign being out can show something different as if its been abandoned left out there, these simplistic photos in my opinion can make that difference then a photo that's brightly colour even though the colour in the photo draws you towards it I feel that these simplistic photos make that much bigger difference to photos with bright colours.
Minimalist landscape
I have experimented with photo-grams in the dark room i tried 2 different experiments in the dark room with experimenting with different light exposures this proved a challenge as i didnt know what exposure would have been right. I think ive left them for to long in the chemicals and not dried it as there are water marks over the photos. The photograms could have been done differently giving them a shorter exposure time less time in the chemicals, If I saw to re attempted making these photograms I would definitely give them less time in the chemicals and insure there dried properly as you can see water marks on the photograms.
Uta Barth blured photos
Uta Barth was a German American photographer who took out of focused photos. Uta Barth employs blurry visuals into her camera work to make a ordinary background the main subject she intentionally turns her camera onto a unremarkable room or landscape to make a Barron landscape the centre of attention. It looks like she takes her photos later on during the day as you can tell by the sun as it looks like its setting and the others seems to be in the winter as it looks colder. Uta Barth is mostly known for her abstract way of taken photos as she has made photographs that investigate the act of looking, she explores the qualitys of light and its ability to overwhelm the human vision. The effect of the photos have today is that they give a boring landscape or view a new look you have to look hard to depict what the photo really is.
these photos were composed with the blured effect these photos i found we easy as you had the place your hand infront of the camera and this would actervate the lens this gave all the photos a different look as you dont normally see a photo blured this outcome is good as these photos are not normally seen like this as normally a photo is in focus. This style is good for landscapes as the light is more clear in the photo and shows how the picture gives more veiw as it turns the photo in a abstract piece even thought you can make out what the photo is go I think this method is quite unique as its still keeping the photo hidden.
Blured photo landscape
These photos were composed with blurred photos. These were made by placing your hand I front of the camera and holding the camera screen to activate the blurred effect. This allows all photos to be inverted this gives the photo a new look as it can turn something that’s dull and turn it into something else. A struggle I found with this is keeping the exposure low as if there would be to much the light would be to bright and you would be able to see the landscape this causes the light to be to dominant in the photo, however the light can further show the blur in the photos and takes away from the surrundings.
Diptychs
These diptych’s allowed me to find out what photos work together. I have found that a lot of the photos are similar so quite a few of them don’t work together. i made the decision to over lap the photos as i felt like some of them connect with the roads and buildings. this effect gives the photos a connection to each other as the line up with each other even with the line blending match up. The tone of these photos are nice as they were taken during the day this gives the photos a more calmer tone as the blue from the sky balances well with the light and its srounding background. hese photo gives the opportunity to put them both side by side and connect both images to the similarities between them.
Dafna Talmor constructed landscape
|
Dafna Talmor describes in this video her proses of her work she described how she wanted to create a utopian world with her landscapes. She shows her self taken the photos and she waits for her perfect moment to take the photo, she then proceeds to construct her images into different shapes and uses coloured film to overlapping the image giving the sides of the photo a bright orange look. Even though hew work comes out well done she still has frustation of a photographic frame.

Constructed landscape Slides
The type of photograph is a constructed landscape slide. This photo shows different landscapes of when i was on holiday in America. These slides where created by printing of smaller images of the photo and cutting of smaller shapes off colour film and placing them over the photograph this would give the photo a new colour and when projected the photo comes up bigger and will have the new colour over the photo, also with scratching over the photo would create lines in the photo. My slides turned out really well i found that they looked good and the colours were well done. I could improve on using different colours onto the photo and maybe make more lines going across the photo and make the colour more aligned with each other.
Drafts from Dionne Lee on Vimeo. |
In this video we are shown of a time-lapse of Dionne Lee constructing new landscapes out pre exsisting landscapes. She shows us how she creates these landscapes by cutting photos in half overlapping the photos over each other these some what creates a border around the photos this shows a new landscape of two different views just by cutting different landscapes up. In my opinion this doesn’t seem very practical to me as you could destroy them in the wrong way and ruin the photo. However what i like about the photos is how shes created a new landscape just by cuting up her existing landscapings and making something new. its similar as taking a landscape photo however shes just cut her photo to make a completely new photo.
|
this was my response to Dionne Lee I found that this way of constructing a landscape to be be strange at first however after re watching the video I have found that this is a much different way to create a landscape this wasn't my preferred way of making a landscape but after giving it thought its a good way to create a landscape however I feel like you must have to get the cuts precise to fit the landscapes in so each photo some what connected.
Final project
Jiro Takamatsuis a Japanese photographer. Takamatsuis hired a photographer to take photographs of Takamatsuis family albums, in doing this Takamatsuis investigated how photography relates to memory and appropriation. In each photo in some way the photo has been obscured if this is may be the colour or a reflection. These photos primarily consists of the surrounding landscapes and Takamatsuis has obscured these photo. These photos where created to show how a photo can effect a persons memoery and thought. In today society the modern world is fragmented, the photos acts as a meeting point of worlds. These photos consist of landscape photos taken from another landscape this creates a new type of photo. I Liked this type of photo because it shows these photos in different views its not just the won sided photo is like its a two in one photo giving more embodiment to the photo further developing the photo
This photograph was made by Jiro Takamatsuis the title of the photograph is, Photograph of Photograph. The genre and style of the photo is a landscape photo. The original camera position would eye level with the photographer and the camera where as the photo ha been re taken the photo has been taken at a angle. The shadows and and lining seem unrealistic as the shadows have been composed and has shown how the subject can be re arranged. This photo was intended to show how a photo can re create a memory with in a person.
|
These photos where inspired by Jiro Takamatsu I have taken these pictures where taken through various places as it was my farther birthday we went out as of this I was able to get some nice photos as it was getting towards sunset as these photos where inspired I edited them black and white. I had also been out during the week this gave opportunity to get further photos of the srounding environment. I plan to print of these photos and re take the images these images this creates a secondary image of the original photos, however i intended to make my own spin of these photos. I would have liked to have done slides however i feel like a photogram would work better with this type of photos. I would like have the camera above eye level to have it over looking the photo.
This was my first experiment i intended to have two of my photos overlapping with each other one in colour and the other in black and white. I wanted to try to re create the look of Jiro Takamatsu however i could not find a angle that fits with this style. i wanted to take these and turn them into a negative and use a photogram however i dont feel as if they fit very well. I Could not get the angel for this I had the idea of wanted. It may be ideal to try and elevating the images instead of just tapping both photos together.
I have edited my original photos in photoshop and edited my photos i have also inverted these images and created a hand made negative. i have taken these negatives and have created a photogram with these edited photographs. I feel like i have left the photograms in the chemicals for to long and have over exposed them next try i will try to make the exsposer lighter as i was using the exposure of 1.8. I could try using a less longer exposer on them to try bring the photogram lighter. However I do like how one of the photograms turned as there seems to look like there's some sort of shadow piercing over this gives it some sort of mysterious vibe towords the photo as I dont even know how that happened but the mistake showed to come out well and it brings a new look to the photo.
these photos where primarily taken during the night i have found it more difficult to take photos of good quality as its started to get later early. I have tried to focus the street lights towords the camera to try and get the light to bounce of the camera. i intend to try re taking these photos and use more urban style of photos. With urban style photos i find that it can show more of a persons lifestyle with just streets and shop lights
i have created 3 dip-tics out of my 9 photos i have paired them up to try and create the blend between all the photos. im going to put both images images onto photoshop and change the opacity to clear, this seemed to be a challenge as i could not find out how to change it to see through. ive used photopea to try and multiply the images however thee outcomes dont show. The dipsticks dont look to bad as there paired together nicely, I could try look into how to make the background a full image and have the photo on top of that to over lay that photo.
i was able to merge my photos together however im not sure that i like the colour blending of both the photos this wasn't how I for sort the photo looking but this was the outcome I wanted for the photo as the photos were taken at different angels this now shows to be a problem as they dont connect there similar photos but there different I could try using one of the photos and try make them brighter or darker then that way the photo would connect.
Finale Piece
this is my final I felt this was my best outcome so far I have taken both my images and printed them of and trimmed them down, I have glued them down and have also used a foam blocks to try and create what looks for a flouting look. I really like how it came out as impound my idea and was able to successfully execute this idea. I would like to try and uses more landscape photos and try it again maybe using a photo in black and white and in colour.
finale piece
these are my finale piece i have used the same skills as i had previously used for these i decided to uses two of the same photos for my first try. I had edited it to black and white for the smaller images this way i found that the method of creating this sculptures was more hands on in creating this piece having to trim down the card to the exact size I needed if it wasn't exact it would lead for parts to overhang out that would be caused for a problem as the photo would look out of place and shape. The hardest part of trying to create this was having the foam block levitated to the exact position and keeping it in place with the spray glue. I had to hold down the foam bock into position this would make the block to stay into the position after I had done this I was Abel to glue the photo onto the block leaving it with this illusion of it floating. For the second piece I used two different photos but ones that have the same look as I thought they had somewhat matched, I thought about having one in black and white but I though it worked better in colour
